Scroll Expander

For my senior project in High School, I innovated a scroll expander for use in an Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC). An ORC boils a fluid with a low evaporation and condenses it. A scroll expander takes in a high temperature gas and expands it - lowering temperature and pressure. The expander's mechanical motion can be harnessed to generate electricity. This is a slow motion video of the expander oscillating at over 5000rpm with 40psi input air pressure.
